A heritage railway or a modern railway ?

The project to reopen the Keswick-Penrith railway as a modern railway in its entirety has been going on since the 1990's.

During that period planning permissions have been given for numerous structures that have encroached on the trackbed.

When Flusco became a business park it was estimated it would cost £17 million to bypass it, this was probably the last nail in the projects coffin.

Since then a large chicken shed has also appeared on the trackbed.
